Help clean and restore YOUR Willamette River! Join Willamette River Festival partners in Eugene and Springfield at a stewardship event near you! Help clean our river by removing litter, restore healthy riparian habitat and improve water quality in the Willamette River. Springfield to Eugene on the Willamette

Join the City of Eugene Recreation and Willamette Riverkeeper to help clean up our urban riverbanks. This is an on-water river clean up event – Class II paddling experience and PFDs required! Covid safety restricts limited seating in rafts available for non-paddlers. Participants are encouraged to bring thier own watercraft.

Mulch-a-palooza
Wednesday August 19th / 9AM-12PM
Whilamut Natural Area in Alton Baker Park

Join fellow forest stewards in the Whilamut Natural Area to help mulching trees in the riparian area starting near the radio tower down towards the Knickerbocker Bridge.  This will increase water retention, keep competitive weeds down, and allow for mowing space to reduce root compaction. This is a free event. Tools, gloves and supplies provided. Please practice social distancing and bring a mask. Registration is required with limited space. Meeting location directions included in registration.

Free the Trees!
Thursday, August 20th / 9AM-12PM
Alton Baker Park & Eastgate Woodlands

Come one, come all! Join Willamette Riverkeeper, City of Eugene Parks and Willamalane Parks and Recreation to remove English Ivy, which has grown and twined around many trees in the riparian area along the Willamette River corridor, jeopardizing their growth and structure. You can “free the trees” by tearing away the invasive species to enhance health in the forest! Please practice safe social distancing and bring a mask. Tools, gloves, and bags provided. This is a free event, suitable for all ages. Registration required with limited space. Meeting location directions included in registration.
